  13. HTMLview is a program that lets you view HTML pages.
  14.  
  15. HTMLview is a faster way of viewing HTML and URL:s than WebExplorer. It does
  16. many but not yet all of the things that WebExplorer does and works both on-
  17. and off-line. If you are used to work with WebExplorer you will soon be used
  18. to work with HTMLview.

  26. To start HTMLview:
  27. ------------------
  28. Start the program HTMLview.EXE or start the WPS program reference (outlined
  29. below). You may put this program (its program reference, not the .EXE file)
  30. in the startup folder if you wish.

  32. You may enter a URL as parameter to the program. Please note that .HTML files
  33. need no be prefixed with file:/// but URL:s must be prefixed with http://.
  34.

  36. NOTE: HTMLview.EXE will put a .INI file in the directory where it is placed.
  37.       The file will be found even if start HTMLview from another directory.
  38.       (Name of the inifile is HTMLview.INI).

  40. NOTE: Items added to the QuickList will be saved in a file called QUIKLIST.TXT
  41.       this one also in the .EXE directory. You may edit this file but yoy MUST 
  42.       comply to the general structure or HTMLview will TRAP!

  44. NOTE: If you are unhappy with the name of the .EXE or the .INI file you may
  45.       rename the .EXE to another name (ex. HTMLV.EXE). Upon starting this
  46.       "new" .EXE file a new .INI file will be created with the same name as
  47.       the .EXE file (HTMLV.EXE gives HTMLV.INI).

  56. TIPS, Not found in menus:
  57. --------------------------
  58. - To save a URL object drag it to the desktop (or any folder) with
  59.   the right mouse button pressed. 
  60.   If you wish to save the webpage as a HTML file instead drag 
  61.   with the Ctrl pressed.
  62.  
  63. - To load a link while a page is loading just click on that link !
  64.  
  65. - Use the right mouse button to move the splitbar that separates
  66.   the webpage-window and the QuickList.
  67.  
  68. - Press the right mouse button on top of the QuickList window to
  69.   get a context menu.

  71. - The button that switches between font sizes works even when you
  72.   are loading a webpage, so does also the graphics on/off button.

  74. - Press Esc to stop loading a page.

  76. - Drag/drop fonts/color from the Color/Font palette in your
  77.   System Setup folder and drop them on the QuickList window.
  78.   Select Options -> Save window setting to save them.
  79.   To change the text color drag a color with the Ctrl key pressed.

  82.   1.03 instead of an later version.

  122.   Set keybord focus  Use this if you cannot use the keyboard to scroll

  125.                      prompt) this menuitem must be used.

  130. OPTIONS ->
  131.   Font               Lets you select the size of the viewing font. This
  132.                      does not update the File->Save settings selection.

  134.   Beep when loaded   Select if you want HTMLview beep when a page has
  135.                      been loaded.

  137.   Load Graphics      Select if you want HTMLview to load graphics on
  138.                      the viewed webpages.

  140.   Show QuickList     Shows (or hides) the QuickList window.

  142.   Settings           Gives you a notebook box with settings.

  145.                      Selections are saved into your .INI file and
  146.                      get reloaded each time you restart HTMLview.

  149.                      Saves the current window position, QuickList position

  166. The buttonbar contains eight button that often mimics menu items in
  167. the pulldown menu. They gray out when the function they represent is
  168. not availible. They are (from left to right):

  187. The statusbar gives information on the loading of the URL:s and the name
  188. of the URL currently under the mouse pointer.

  190. When printing the statusbar show a static text and the HTML windows is
  191. disabled. This is to prevent errors in printing.

  197. Allows you to change the permanent settings. Selecting OK writes these to
  198. the .INI file at ones. They also update the non-permannent settings.
